Halebook privacy policy

Version 1, effective 2 September 2026. Applies to the Halebook Android app, package com.kire.halebook, version 0.1.x. Halebook is made by Kire ("we", "us"). Contact: support@halebook.com.

Halebook is a daily companion for people who log blood pressure or blood sugar and take medicines on a schedule. This policy says what the app does with your information, in plain words. The short version: everything you enter stays on your phone, we never see it, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you share it yourself.

1. What the app stores on your phone

The app keeps these on your phone only, in its private storage:

• Readings you enter: blood pressure, pulse, blood sugar and weight, each with the time, a context such as "fasting" or "sitting", and any note you add.
• Medicines you add: name, strength, how many you take, instructions, the times and days for each, and whether it is "as needed".
• Dose entries: for each reminder, whether you tapped Taken, snoozed or skipped, and when.
• Reminder log: when each reminder was planned, when it rang and whether it was answered. This exists so the app can show you what it did and so a missed ring can be understood. It never leaves the phone.
• Settings: the sugar and weight units you chose, whether you finished the first-run steps, and, only if you typed one, a name for the record. The name is optional and is used only as the heading of a report you create.

There is no account, no sign-in, and no identifier that ties this data to you anywhere outside your phone.

2. What leaves your phone

Nothing, unless you do one of these yourself:

• Share a report. When you tap Share PDF or CSV, the app writes the file and opens Android's share sheet. You pick who receives it: a doctor on WhatsApp, an email, a printer. The file goes only where you send it. The app does not keep a copy outside its private folder and does not send it anywhere on its own.
• Export a backup. When you tap Export on the Backup screen, the app writes one file to the folder you pick. That file holds your whole record in plain JSON. Anyone who can open that file can read it, so keep it somewhere you trust.
• Import a backup. The app reads a file you pick and replaces what is on the phone with it, after showing you what is inside and asking you to confirm.

The app has no permission to use the internet. It contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking of any kind. Our build process fails if any such library is present.

3. Permissions the app asks for, and why

• Notifications: so a reminder can reach you. Without it, the reminder still fires and plays, but no reminder screen or lock-screen card can appear.
• Alarms and reminders (exact alarms): so 9:00 means 9:00, not 9:20. Android may delay inexact alarms to save battery.
• Show over the lock screen (full-screen notifications): so the reminder screen can appear when the phone is locked and Taken is one tap.
• Run in the background while ringing: the ring is a short foreground service so the sound keeps playing until you answer.
• Start after restart: so reminders are set up again after the phone reboots.
• Vibrate and keep the phone awake briefly: for the reminder itself.
• Battery settings on some phones: the app can open the phone's own settings page so you can stop the maker's battery saver from silencing reminders. The app cannot change that setting itself.

The app does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone or files beyond the one you pick for a backup.

4. What the app does not do

Halebook records what you enter and reminds you at the times you set. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, does not interpret your readings, and is not a medical device. Ask a healthcare professional about your health. The app shows no reference ranges and makes no judgement about a number.

5. Deleting your data

Your data is yours and it is only on your phone:

• Delete a reading or a medicine inside the app and it is gone.
• Clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app, and everything the app stored is removed.
• A backup file you exported is under your control; delete it wherever you saved it.

We hold nothing, so there is nothing for us to delete or hand over.

6. Children

Halebook is for adults managing their own or a family member's readings and medicines. It is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them; we could not, since the app collects nothing.

7. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and under the GDPR and UK GDPR where they apply, you have rights to access, correct and erase your personal data. Because everything is on your phone and nothing is with us, you exercise these rights directly in the app and in Android settings, as described above. If you believe we hold anything about you, write to us and we will answer within 30 days.

8. Future features

Later versions may offer optional features that involve a server, such as a family link that mirrors your readings to a relative you invite, or an encrypted cloud backup. None exist in this version. Any such feature will be off until you turn it on, will explain what it sends before you do, and this policy will be updated first, with the version and date at the top changed.

9. Changes to this policy

We will post any change here and in the app, with a new version number and date. Material changes will be shown inside the app before they take effect.
